Biography

Prof Kelvin Lee is Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the Lincolnshire Heart Centre with a focus on complex coronary intervention. His expertise includes intra-coronary imaging, rotational atherectomy, intravascular lithotripsy and coronary physiology using iFR and FFR. He leads the Cardiovascular Clinical Research Programme and is Cardio-Metabolic Lead and Deputy Clinical Director of Research at ULHT.

Prof Lee trained at Newcastle University and Hospitals and was a Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Fellow in cardiovascular genomics at the Institute of Human Genetics. He was also a British Cardiac Society Young Investigator.

He leads cardio-renal-metabolic research at ULHT, with interests in atherosclerosis, inflammation and the inflammasome. He heads the cardio-diabetes programme and multi-disciplinary cardio-metabolic clinic. His team runs studies in coronary intervention, cardio-diabetes, inflammation, heart failure and hyperlipidaemia.
